This site gives you a definition and some examples. The definition was simple but you do need to know about bits in order to understand. The examples were not very detailed BUT it gives you other point of view.

This site shows how the Hamming Code uses extra parity bits to identify a single error in a byte of data. If you are already familiar with parity bits, this site is a neat way to see how you can detect a "bad bit." If you are unfamliar with parity bits usage, you might be a little confused... but try to figure it out. You might surprise yourself!
