DBMS Maintenance Tools

There are five major maintenance activities That the DBMS automatically takes care of:
 

1. Updating of indices (so that data can be found quicker)
    
2. Database Integrity (to be discussed later)
    
3. Entity and Referential Integrity (also to be discussed later)
    
4. Security management (Who has access to what)
    
5. Backup and recovery (something is bound to go wrong sometime)
