| An Introduction to. .Object-Oriented
Analysis..Objects in plain English...Chapter 4: Data-Oriented
Models.","This website is based on the book by David W. Brown. On the
homepage, visitors are given a table of contents as an overview of what
the website contains. Above the table of contents, you can click on a
hyperlink that will take you to a page where each individual topic
contained in the table of contents is explained in very simple language.
The author presents information by using analogies that readers can relate
to and understand easily. For example, cardinality is explained in terms
of customers purchasing products - a one to many relationship is explained
as one customer purchasing several products. The website is very easy to
navigate, offers a multitude of information, and the content is very easy
to understand. |

| Developing Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)","I
liked this website because it identifies the terms used for ERDs. The
website also demonstrates a problem and a step by step way of solving with
ERDs. I will use it for my notes to help me work out the review problems
for ERD. |
| This was a great web page detailing the intricacies of how to properly design an ERD to enable you the analyst to produce a good database structure so that the data can be stored and retrieved in a most efficient manner. This information is very easy to follow and all the major vocabulary is defined. |
| A very good site that graphically explains how to develop ERD’s and how the enities relate with one another. |
| This website is great beacause it explains what an Entity Relationship Diagram is and what its components are. Furthermore, it shows a methodology on how to construct an ERD in 10 simple steps. |
| This page is a good one to support the teacher's ERD's explanaition. It provides a summary of the terminology, syntax, and examples of how to use them to build an ERD. |
| The topic was explained in detail with examples when compared to other sites |
| This is a good website which gives information on how an ERD is being developed and also gives some basic information on what is ERD. The best thing about this website is it explains ERD in a step by step method so that even learners can understand the concept. |

| Data Modeling: Finding the perfect fit","This page
deals with Data Modeling. It states that the purpose of data modeling is
to develop an accurate model, or graphical representation, of the client's
information needs and business processes. This page also states that the
data model acts as a framework for the development of the new or enhanced
application. It goes on to talk about Application Audience and Services,
entities, attributes and different types of relationships. |
| This website gives a concise outline of the data modeling process. It gives a graphical representation of entities and thier relationships. I think it is a good reference tool for those wanting a guide to creating an ERD. |

to create them.","This is a fairly basic site that discusses attributes,
entities, and relationships. |
| This is a very good website and it tells us that Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) illustrate the logical structure of databases.
|
| It is a software design center. Briefly teaches reader how do draw ERD and also show Entity Relationship Diagram Notations.
|
| I thought this site was great when it comes to drawing ERD's. You can buy software that will create the ERD's for you. All you have to do it know what your attributes and entities are. |
| There is a free download called SmartDraw software which will help you draw professional ERDs |
| I like this website because it includes many helpful topics for ERD’s like What are ERDs?, Entity Relationship Diagram Notations, Types of Cardinality, Drawing ER Diagrams in SmartDraw, ERD Library, Adding an ERD Symbol to Your Page, Connecting Entities, Placing the Relationship Symbol, Drawing Cardinality and Ordinality Relationships, Adding Arrows, and Tips for Effective ER Diagrams. Plus this website also includes examples and finding resources (which includes Peter’s Chen website). |
| This website shows you how to draw Entity Relationships Diagrams. It defines and describes some context words that you need to learn for class and it provides good examples of how diagrams can be developed. Here you will learn the difference between an entity, and a weak entity. You will also learn the difference between the different types of attributes and how they are used. This site also contains important information about cardinality and relationships. |
| I liked this site since it gives an easy explanation about ERD's |

uses a model-based approach to its development efforts. The goal of this
approach is to construct software models that represent the structure and
operations of a business as simply and directly as possible. Because these
models are not tied to any particular problem, they can be used to address
a wide range of problems, including problems that weren't even imagined
when the models were constructed. |

| Entity Relationship Diagrams are a major data modeling tool and will help organize the data in your project into entities and define the relationships between the entities. This process has proved to enable the analyst to produce a good database structure so that the data can be stored and retrieved in a most efficient manner. John Paul Ashenfelter, faculty member at the University of Virginia, presents this introductory workshop on database concepts for everyone. His interactive presentation includes a discussion of how and why to use databases in education, a demonstration of sample classroom applications developed by the speaker for use at the University of Virginia, and an introduction to database terminology and design concepts. |

| This site basically deals with the designing the ERD's, It will be very useful for all levels of students as it deals all the way through fundamental concepts to the expert level of detail. It starts up with what is an entity, attribute, and relationships between entities and different types of relationships, cardinality etc and ends up with the final concepts like generalization ans specialization. It would be very useful for a quick review of the subject.
