Good_Points

I enjoyed this course because I really did learn a lot of things I never expected to encounter. I especially liked learning how to find base addresses, I would have never guessed I needed to know that. I also liked learning about how to link lists.

Bad_Points

I feared each quiz. I didnt' do so horribly on them, it's just that it was so easy to make dumb mistakes on them.

The only part I would change: Get your students more involved. Even if you have to, force the questions out of us. I think our input would lessen the monotony of the theory.

Good_Points

I enjoyed working on the programs more than anything else. I wish we could have done more hands on programming to better understand how C really operates.

Bad_Points

I don't feel I got enough out of this class. Class lectures are only helpful to a point. For me hands on helps me better understand everything I need to know about this class objectives.

Good_Points

The best part of this course, as I said in the midterm comments, is that all the material is in the website. I really enjoyed this course it was very interesting and I learn a lot.

Bad_Points

The bad part of this course is that the website is not up to date. Some of the slides and some of the review questions in the book and website have errors. The worst part is that we never had a class session in the computer lab.

The course can be improved by having the website up to date at least once a week. The teacher should correct the errors on the slides and review questions in the book and on the website. I strongly think that if we had a few class sessions in the computer lab with the guidance of the teacher explaining the material and actually applying it, then we would understand it better.

Good_Points

Overall, the course was good. It was interesting. I think that everything was well explained.

Bad_Points

The only thing that I didn't like about the course is that the exams were very short, and you didn't have the chance to miss points.

I think that it could be more interactive. It's just that the professor is always talking. I think that it could be a good idea if the professor asked some questions to the students in order to get them more involved with the class.

Good_Points

Having the ability to turn in assignments via internet. This makes it a lot easier and avoiding the hassle of paper and pencil. Also having what's going to be taught in class by having access to the PowerPoint presentations. The student will be more attentive what the professor will teach in class.

Bad_Points

When posting new stuff on the web, the student may not be aware of what's new and what has to be turned in until the professor points it out in class. The student may not be aware of the assignment if it's graded or turned in or maybe lost.

In the future, hopefully assignments maybe graded close to a week or so, so the student can feel at ease that the assignment is the professor's hands good and graded. This can make students more aware of their grades and see if there's room for improvement.

I learned a lot about how information is really stored. I guess you can just take it for granted when you save something to memory. Yet, so much goes on within the CPU and RAM.

Bad_Points

The program assignments should probably start out with a day or two of lab time. Seeing the concepts and actualy implementing them are really different.

I felt that Dr Kirs really worked with his students. He was able to help each of us understand this subject matter, which is a very tough one.

Bad_Points

There is a lot of work and sometimes it could be very stressful. I still think that we should have at least a couple of more lab work as a class.
